Little Mix!

Little Mix!
2011 WINNERS!!

Tuesday 20 December 2011

The X Factor 2011, farewell!

And now, the end is here, and we have seen the final showdown. My friends, I wrote it clear, I've blogged my thoughts, I've gave the low down! (me and Frank wrote that together!)

So then, that's it for another year, personally I can't quite believe how quickly it's gone over. It seems like just yesterday I was ranting about not liking the sound of the new judges, then completely changing my mind and ranting about how much I love them. Now we have our winner, and I bet no-one predicted a group would win this year, let alone a girl group, I certainly didn't. However they proved each week how much they deserved to be there, and improved massively from start to finish. I truly hope they do well after the show because personally I can't wait to hear more from them. I want, sorry, I NEED to see more 'Little Mix' songs in my library! Get cracking lasses!!!

As promised I'm gonna do a little series review, just highlighting a few personal best and worst moments. I'm only gonna concentrate on the finalists else I'll be still writing when next years starts!

Before I begin though I just want to address something, now a lot of people have been complaining that this year has been boring and The X Factor has ran its course, well I am being 100% truthful when I say that I think this year has been one of the better years, I started getting bored a few years back and missed quite a few last year, but this year I've watched every episode religiously, and personally I would be gutted if they didn't bring it back. I think the talent this year, generally, has been quite high, but also quite similar and despite the controversy it caused, people missed the 'Jedward' and 'Wagner' acts. Yea we had Frankie, but you couldn't laugh at him, and although Kitty and Johnny put on a good show, they also both had a reasonable amount of talent.
Even with a drop in ratings it's still the most watched TV show and would be a HUGE miss even to those complaining!! I read an article today saying the final had more viewers than The Royal Wedding, THE ROYAL WEDDING!!! Watched by every man woman cat dog fish and every bloody teddy bear! How can they morally spin that into a slating about a big drop in viewers for the final, I just can't comprehend it!! It's the same story with the sales figures for Cannonball, reported as the fastest selling single this year, got straight to number 1, yet all the press can do is slate it for not selling as well as previous years, its very contradictory. To me that says more about single sales in general than anything else. This year The X Factor has taken a lot of unnecessary media bashing's, some not so unnecessary as well but still, in general it's just been unfair, and I would love for them to come bouncing back next year! I've gone off track haven't I?? This bit was supposed to be short and just say that this year has been AMAZEBALLS! Dammit I always talk too much!! Swiftly moving on....

Best and worst! Little Mix and Frankie. Nuff said!! Good night....

HA, As if....let's do this!!
I'm not gonna ramble on too much about Little Mix here coz I'm gonna assume you all already know I love them, and I've already rambled on enough in my previous posts, and earlier in this one, I'm rambling again aren't I? DAM!!
First up one of my fave performances, all I'm gonna say is E.T.!! Wow! As a performance that will take a lot to beat. The vocals, the stage set up, the make-up, everything was awesome socks, with a capital AWE!!!
Not forgetting the 'Don't Let Go' performance, OH to the EM GEE! And of course every other song they sang, whoops forgot I wasn't meant to ramble about Little Mix too much, it's just so hard when they were just so fantabulously gorgeously amazingly AWESOME!!! Ok ok I'll talk about some other contestants now, if I must! Pffft.

I have to admit, Marcus had a few show stopping moments early on in the competition, but the best moments besides Little Mix for me personally seemed to always come from Johnny, oh how I loved him! Each week he showed us a different side, but my favourite 2 performances from him were 'I Believe in a thing Called Love' in rock week, he totally nailed that, I am a fan of The Darkness and was actually over the moon when I heard he was singing it, and oh by gosh did he live up to my extremely high expectations. My other favourite of his was 'That old Devil Called Love' Johnny really shone that week, it was a perfect song choice for him and I don't care what anyone else says, I will always have a soft spot for him, for some reason I like to use the word chap when I refer to Johnny haha, he seemed like a lovely chap!

From amazing performances to annoyingly cringeworthy moments, did anyone else want to slap Kitty when she jumped in the pool at judges houses then just laughed awkwardly!!! Argh!! Maybe it was just me but that REALLY annoyed me! To be fair though I'm pretty easily annoyed, BE WARNED!!!! Wow I like exclamation marks don't I?
Another 'punch in the face' annoying moment was Kelly Rowland and her reaction to Craig in floor fillers week 'Who knew you could do up tempo, owwwwwww' every time I see it replayed I want to bite my hand in annoyance. I'm not a big fan of stuff like that as you can probably guess! Needless to say I cringed at quite a few Frankie performances, not all of them though, I want to make that clear. As I've said before, I disagree with the unnecessary character bashing, but hey let's not get into that!

Overall this series has had it's ups and downs like every year, however unlike previous years, It's kept me interested every week. We've had tears, fall-outs, tantrums, judges missing, judges kissing, Dermot dancing, oh my god, DERMOT DANCING!! I'm gonna miss that the most *sobs uncontrollably*!!

Oh the new judges were a shock to the system were't they, but now I kinda love some of them (emphasis on some). Personally I would like to see a small jig around, I have my ideas on who but that's just for my little ol' brainicle! One thing I will shout from the rooftops, only because I already have, is how much I think Tulisa suits the panel, many people were wary but she PUT IT DOWN!!! I would like to see her return, but that's all your getting out of me!! Also a few of the other twists were pretty cruel/cool, like the voting off in the first week, ouch, and the final live at Wembley WHOOOP! I wasn't sure how well that would work if I'm honest but it was ace!

Social media has changed the way I interacted with the show this year, which might be the reason why I've enjoyed it so much more. The power of Twitter is phenomenal, how many times did it overload!!! You don't get none of that during a Strictly episode do you!! Just Saying! And of course blogging, connecting with people from all over the world just by writing what you think and feel, it's been an amazing few month and I'm gutted it's all over, but I promise to start blogging again next year, so long as you promise to read it....It's been an absolute a pleasure. Just want to say a huge thanks to Stephen for his encouragement, guidance and of course for allowing me the pleasure of working with him. Not forgetting the amazing Amy for her support, and editing skills ;-) and of course a HUGE thanks to each and every one of you reading and following this blog, you've been awesome socks, and if I could hug every one of you I would, but I can't, sorry!
Keep in touch @TulisaRoxMySox :-)

Merry XFactormas and Happy New Year to you all! xxx

And the WINNER is..........

LITTLE MIX!!!!!!

They made history tonight and rightly so! What an amazing final tonight has been, and so emotional.
I have to say Little Mix were actually the better of the 2 for every performance tonight, Marcus was first and set the bar, yet Little Mix raised it, and smashed it every time. Don't even get me started on the winners song, oh my god how emotional, I'll openly admit I was worried that the song was more suited to Marcus than Little Mix but they absolutely blew it out of the water. I had actual tears, real tears..... I'm not the ice queen afterall! :-D SUCCESS all around!!!

AHHHH MAN I'm actually buzzing right now, I'm so happy for them, they truly deserved it. No girl group has ever made the final, and no group has ever won, what an achievement for them, and for Tulisa, youngest judge ever, and her first year and she goes and bloody wins it, that's how it's done Gary, take notes! hehe!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I MET THEM!!!! I MET THE WINNERS EEEEEEEK!!!!!! And I have a photo as proof!!

Silent night was just beautiful, welled up at that song too, and of course they smashed Don't Let Go, even more so than the first time, which by the way was the song they sang the weekend I was there, possibly the reason why they liked it so much, just saying.....!!

Ok ok I need to calm down a bit now and start writing stuff that actually makes sense, SCREW IT!! I'm soooooooo HAPPY!!! I actually got twitter banned twice this weekend because of tweeting too much!! Whatever, as if I talk to much SHUT UP!!!

I'm leaving this post to be all about the winner tonight, rightly so!!! Keep your eyes open for a series review coming to your computer screens very soon!!!!! (hopefully my sentances will actually makes sense and flow properly by then, hmmmm then again maybe not)

Now it's time to check my phone bill..........ooooo this is gonna be painful!!!! Night. Thanks for reading you guys and gals are all amazing and have made this series amazing for me. Best series to date in my opinion, mainly thanks to you reading, and #Twitterguy!!!!!!!!! Muchos Love! xxx

Saturday 10 December 2011

And then there were 2....

Tonight has been both amazing and shocking in equal amounts. For those who haven't actually watched tonight's episode then you may want to avert your eyes for the next paragraph...

Just want to start by saying a huge WELL DONE to Amelia Lily, although she got voted off, she has amazing talent and will go far. Based on her performance tonight alone she didn't deserve to go home but overall I think it was probably her time.

Ok lets have a quick discussion on the performances, and unfortunately I won't be nicey nicey like the judges are on final weekend :-) SORRY!

First up Marcus, his first performance was just wrong, it didn't suit him at all, totally wrong song for him for the final. I was expecting so much more, but saying that, at least nobody can ever accuse him of playing it safe, he definitely tries a bit of everything, and isn't scared too. His 2nd performance, duet with Gary, was much better vocally, they both suited the song well. Personally I found it boring but vocally it was very good, he pulled it back a bit.

Little Mix were up next, and as always I speak honestly regardless of personal feelings. I can honestly say I thought they smashed it TOTALLY! First song was awesome, vocally top class, and a really good song choice for them. Then came their duet with Tulisa, and quite a few people have been doubting Tulisa's vocal abilities, well doubt no longer, that girl can SING! And yet again the song choice was awesome, really REALLY loved it! (yes lots of capitals tonight, I'm THAT excited)

Finally we had Amelia singing Christina Aguilera, much better than she has previously. She really brought it to the final - as Kelly would say! Eugh! Maybe a little shouty in parts, but I've actually trained myself to get past that, it's obviously just part of Amelia's style. Shame I just got used to it and she's gone home, oh well hashtag moving on! Her second performance with Kelly was a bit hmmmmm for me, good song choice, but anyone following that performance from Tulisa and Little Mix were going to struggle :-) tee hee I'm naughty!

So that was the 1st instalment of the final. And I have to say, I was a bit worried about it being at Wembley Arena, I'm not a fan of change! Proper old biddy you know, but it really worked, the stage was awesome, and I bet the atmosphere was intense.

Really don't know which way the final is going to go, obviously I know who I want to win, but I think both are talented and will have a big future ahead of them. The winners single is usually a good deciding factor so I'm looking forward to hearing them both perform their versions.

BRING ON THE FINAL!!!!! KEEP VOTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS - of course I didn't sell my tickets to see The Saturdays tonight just so I could stay in and watch the show live, because that would be RIDICULOUS!!! GEEK!!!! *looks around shiftily*

Sunday 4 December 2011

Seriously, this is RIDICULOUS!

This show does something to me that is just plain RIDICULOUS! From 8pm I'm an emotional wreck, can't eat, drink, sit still and quite frankly I'm a sweaty mess! Why do we get so emotionally attached, it's strange what a show like this can do to you! Freaky!

Anyway, I'm gonna mix things up a bit and write what I would've wrote if it was Little Mix going home....ARGH ITS A FIX I'M NEVER WATCHING EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOODNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

Teehee of course I'm just kidding around, I'm a big kidder you know!
Need to get serious now, yes I am over the moon for the acts that go through to the final, no favouritism from me, don't get any of that around here.....*looks around shiftily*......Anyway, I did predict Misha would go in my last post, however that doesn't mean it's ok to gloat about it, at the end of the day Misha was talented, even if she wasn't everyone's cup of tea, and she is probably devastated right now. I'm sure it won't be the last we hear of her.

So ladies and gents, the final is approaching, and what a bloody final it's going to be, 3 of the most talented finalists in history in my opinion, it's genuinely going to be a fabulous show. I think people are a bit complacent this year and are forgetting how talented these guys are. If you think back realistically then the final always has a pretty clear winner and usually an obvious 'not the best singer' act, but this year they are all so talented and I don't think there's a clear winner. It's going to be a tough call, so if you have a favourite then make sure you vote....SEE YOU AT WEMBLEY!!!! (not literally, unless I rename my house by next Saturday, and you happen to pop around)

PS - OMG I can't actually believe that my next post will be about the winner of X Factor 2011! How quick has that gone! SCARY dot com!

Saturday 3 December 2011

Semi Final, Full Throttle

Part of me is absolutely gutted that we now only have 1 show left to enjoy/hate/scream/cry and just LOVE, but part of me is also quite looking forward to getting my Saturday nights back...hmmm maybe....we'll see!

Now tonight has had me seriously stressed out on more than one occasion, and also Angry! This week more at the judges than the contestants, although some of the performances made me slightly mad too! Let's discuss...

Misha B - As you all well know I'm not a Misha fan, but I am always honest, if I like a performance I will always say so, same if I don't, and this week again, I didn't. I don't like Misha's voice, that is my honest opinion. She puts on a good performance, and definitely has the confidence and star quality, but vocally she just isn't my cup of tea. Quick comments on her performances, firstly I can't enjoy a Motown song with 'B'rrrap' thrown in the middle, personal preference *shudders at the mental replay* although I do appreciate she was trying to make it her own *shudders again*! Secondly P!NK is a legend and 'Perfect' is one of my favourite songs, so to me, only P!NK can sing that how it's meant to be sung, make of that as you will...
Don't agree with Gary's comments at all, what happened in the past should stay in the past, as the judges keep saying, yet he decides now is the time to bring that back up, low blow in my opinion, which although may have been intended to get more people behind her, may just highlight the reasons why people didn't vote in the first place. Tut tut Mr Barlow. Moving on...

Amelia - I really like Amelia, she seems lovely. I don't always like her performances though. Tonight her first performance was the best of round 1. She seemed to tone it down a bit so we got to hear more of her stripped back voice, rather than her shouty 'hitting the high notes' voice. Really enjoyed it. Having said that I wasn't keen on her second performance, when she started, I got goosebumps and really thought this was going to be amazing, but then came the shouting and I just got angry, so disappointed! She is so talented and I do love her voice.....at times!

Little Mix - needless to say, I do love a little bit of Little Mix. But like I said earlier, regardless of personal feelings, I will always be honest. So here goes. Little Mix NAILED both performances, they didn't mess up at all.....sugar plums I told a fib......dam you honesty! Lets try that again, ok have to be honest, first performance wasn't their best, Leighann did mess up which made me soooooooo gutted for her! She did pull it back really well though, but I'd be a hypocrite to say it's ok to mess your lines up this far into the competition. Generally I enjoyed their performance but it was weaker than usual. HOWEVER, their second performance was fabulous, I'll admit I was worried at the beginning, thought it started shaky, but when they got into it I honestly loved it. Perrie totally nailed it, but not just her, they all came together beautifully!
Again Mr Barlow was bang out of order, Jade done a fab job taking on the lead vocals, yes Perrie is awesome, but there's no need to take Jade's moment away from her. Not Cool! AND with 4 girls as talented as these, you don't necessarily need a lead singer, the others are too good to be just backing singers.

Marcus - now this is a strange one for me. I loved Marcus in the beginning, I thought he was amazingly talented but seemed to be hidden by other artists, I think that's why I liked him so much, he outshone those that you expected to steal the show. However now he seems to have lost that spark for me, I find him boring and predictable. As soon as I heard it was Motown week I knew Marcus would be in his element and would nail it, which he did, but he didn't wow me at all. It was boring, vocally flawless, but boring. He lacks the shock factor with me, and I no longer get excited to see what he's performing. Shame. His second performance wasn't much better either. One thing I will say for him though, he has amazing energy and spirit, and I loved the fact he never complained or played the sympathy card (excluding Xtra Factor) about his throat infection. He got on with it like a trooper, maybe he should have complained, then people would understand why his second performance sounded pitchy and quite awful in parts, but he didn't, and for that I applaud him. Others in the comp, not naming names, would have played on that immensely!

My thoughts on next week's finalists: Well despite my comments above, I would love to see Marcus in the final, like I said he is vocally flawless at times, and regardless of wow factor, he deserves a place in the final, just to try one last time to shock us, really pull it out of the bag. Also Little Mix, in my opinion those girls have improved the most yet at the same time remained themselves, level headed, they bring something fresh to the competition and it would be amazing to see them in the final. And lastly I would like to see Amelia Lily, she shouldn't have gone in week one, and people say she shouldn't win because she was out for so long, well that wasn't her fault, public didn't vote her off, her vocals can be amazing with the right songs, she deserves her place in the competition and has worked hard for it, would love to see her go through.

Obviously that leaves us with Misha B, as i've stressed 47 million time, this is just my opinion, but it doesn't mean I think Misha deserves to go home. As an artist I don't get her, and out of the remaining 4, she is my least favourite. But there's millions of other voting opinions out there so we shall see in less that 24 hours.
Hopefully in those 24 hours Gary will have had a spa visit, plenty of sleep and will be in a better mood, at the minute he's getting on my nerves! Cheer up Gary! Also think Tulisa needs to see someone about her hand, and possible someone may need to take a look at the judges desk, by heck I wouldn't like a fight with her! :-D

OOOOOOooooo almost forgot! Dermot Dancing was amazing tonight, shake that bum Dermot, awwwww I'm gonna miss those moves!

Sunday 27 November 2011

Too emotional!

Tonight has been one hell of a roller-coaster of a show for me on a personal level. First up I was sooooooo childishly excited to see the Muppets open the show with Olly, childhood memories came flooding back, oh and by the way, they should be on every week. What a highlight! Missed Kermit though, bet he wasn't happy to see Olly flirting with his woman mind, Olly I'd watch your back if I was you....
Then the beautifully amazing Jessie J sang my favourite song of the moment, moved me to the core in a wonderful warm way.
Next up came the charity song, but before that we saw a VT that personally I was not prepared for and lets just say it was extremely close to home, therefore left me a blubbering wreck. Shameless plug here but I don't care, Together for short lives is an amazing charity please support and download the song, even if you don't like it, it's 99p that will help families like you wouldn't believe. Please.

Ok so back to the results, although after crying like a bi-atch then I thought I wasn't going to be as bothered anymore......I was wrong. Nerves set in again and I started to panic, no one in particular of course ;-P and I certainly didn't scream like an insane crazy mad woman when I heard a particular act read out, of course not! That would've been biased and completely unprofessional on every level! *tries to keep straight face*
When it came to be Janet and Misha being in the bottom 2, I know I shouldn't have been happy, but I was elated, ONLY because I had predicted it and I NEVER get it right! Big moment for me! Not such a big moment for Janet and Misha though and I really shouldn't have been celebrating - shameful.
Anyway, personally I thought Janet's save me performance was one of her best of the season, great come back. Like I said in my previous post I don't get Misha so wasn't that fussed about hers, but I could understand why the judges saved her. As a performer she has always been better than Janet, however this is now Misha's 3rd time in the bottom 2, not many people get saved that many times, lucky lucky lucky.

I was feeling better about not being backstage this morning, up until the big Muppets moment and then the bitterness kicked back in, fingers crossed I'll be happier next week......if not then be prepared for more ANGER!!!! :-) Miss you #twitterguy!

Saturday 26 November 2011

Double songs, but not double WOW!

Prepare yourselves for a rather twisty, wailing and god awful review of this weeks show, a bit like some of the acts! OUCH I didn't just go there did I.... oh yes I did! No seriously, I'm in a terrible mood because this week I wasn't behind the scenes and yes I'm feeling VERY bitter about it. Therefore I have been sat at home like an old woman twisting at everything.....so please, PLEASE enjoy my review :-D

As there's only 5 left, I'm not going to categorise them into YAY NAY and Hmmm, I'm just gonna review each act independently and give my honest opinion, maybe too honest at times.... lets begin!

It may be a good idea to get the worst out the way first and I'm sorry in advance as this may get a bit messy......Janet Devlin. Starting with her messed lyrics, hmmm, now once is bad enough on the show, but twice is just not on, not this far into the competition and certainly not on 2 occasions in the same song! Fair enough she said she wasn't feeling well, but still, she totally killed Mmmbop and not in a good way, NEVER in a good way! So needless to say I was hoping she would come back with her 2nd song and smash it, however I was asleep through most of it, so if she did smash it then I missed it! Not good Janet, not good at all! Hopefully it's because she was unwell, IF she gets through to next week IF then fingers crossed she's feeling better and she sounds better. IF

Next up, The fabulous Little Mix, now I'm a big fan of these girls and love every performance they do, but I'm here to do an honest job so regardless of personal feelings I have to be true. Tonight I didn't think they done as well as previous weeks, I wasn't keen on the Bieber song, loved the remix Diana Ross part but overall I wasn't as fussed about it. However I love love LOVED their Beautiful cover, they showed true emotion throughout and although vocally it wasn't their best to date, it was a beautifully touching performance and still vocally better than most others. Loved it.

Then we have Misha B. Now I'm going to compare her to last years Rebecca Ferguson, all through the season last year I just didn't connect with Rebecca vocally yet everyone else did. I find it the same with Misha, I just didn't think either of her performances tonight were very good yet the judges and a lot of people on twitter were raving about her. Clearly it's just me then. I thought her first performance was just full of wailing, and her 2nd performance was just not for me at all. Never mind, it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

I'm clearly in a bad mood tonight because even Marcus didn't float my boat tonight. Normally I think he nails it, but his first performance was OK, and his second was bad and good. His George Michael cover was quite good, but considering how good his previous performances were then it wasn't my favourite of his. Then we've got his Stevie Wonder song, and I for one LOVE that song so had particularly high hopes for him, but was gutted at how bad he started off, the first half of the song was really pitchy and I was really upset about it, but then he pulled it back in the 2nd half. THANK GOD! Still not my best from him though.

Lastly we've got Amelia. I am a big Amelia fan, I was one of those idiots shouting and raging about her getting kicked off in the first week. And based on her first performance tonight, I was right to be raging, she took the lead in the best performance of the night for the 1st round. She sang that beautiful, aced it. But then came the 2nd song and I can't express my excitement when I found out she was singing a Kelly Clarkson song, but then my utter disappointment at it being 'Since u been gone' - of all the songs to pick I was praying it wouldn't be that one. I do like the song but to prove Amelia's singing ability there are so many better songs to sing. Good effort all round though.

To be honest I think the strain of having to rehearse 2 songs has been noticeable by all contestants this week, which is a shame because one of them won't get a 2nd chance. Each and everyone of them are talented, I know that first hand, but either this week they struggled with 2 songs or I just struggled to get passed watching at home and not in the wings *super sad face*

My predictions are, for what it's worth as I'm never right, bottom 2 should be Janet and Misha, possibly Amelia. But I think Janet will go if she's an option. She's talented but personally she doesn't have The X Factor!

I've got a week to get over my depression so fingers crossed I'll be back next week with nicer things to say, I apologise for this weeks gloominess!

Monday 21 November 2011

Fan Girl MANIA!!! Yes I was a geek!

Right, so unless this is literally your first time reading my blog - HELLO, WELCOME, where you been?? Then you will have heard that I got an amazing opportunity to go backstage and see how it all goes down, and well it all goes down PRETTY DAM AMAZINGLY!! Needless to say I was honoured to be there and tried my best to be cool calm and collected, though it probably didn't show, HA - Geek alert!

Ok so for those of you interested, I'm gonna give you the low down of my trip, as much as I can without getting my head chopped off *looks around for man with axe* looks like the coast is clear, phew! Where should I start, hmm well on Thursday night we packed and g........what? Too early, ahh I see, you want just X Factor related information, ok, not interested in my life huh, I get it. Pffft! :-P
The excitement started before I even met up with #twitterguy, and it was totally unplanned. Just happened to be walking past the studios scoping the area and saw all the contestants pull in, impeccable timing huh! Anyway I then went to meet the Legend behind twitter, and I must confess it was like meeting the superhero under the mask. Exactly like you hoped it would be FAB-U-LOUS! As was the entrance to the studios, past the paps and fans straight through, coooooooool!
Fast forward through the studio tour, and general introductions, to casually sitting in on Little Mix rehearsing, wowzers, yea I used that word, and I probably said it out loud too! Rightly so. Hearing them on the show at home is one thing, but hearing them right in front of you is another. Words can't describe it.
Not long after this TwitterGuy offered me the chance to sit in on the dress rehearsal for the live show, and I got to sit in the front row, which never happens! Haha! As I'm writing this I can't help but think it doesn't sound a smidge as exciting as it was at the time, seriously, to the average Joe like me, sitting in on a dress rehearsal and taking pics for #twitterguy was an experience and a half, and a privilege might I add! So any lack of enthusiasm here is sooooooo not intentional, read every word with a high pitched excited voice please! :-) So yea, the dress rehearsal was exactly like the live show except I didn't have tickets to the live show, so wouldn't be in a nice comfy seat, chatting to the camera guy - who by the way thought I was part of the media team, oh yea, clearly I blend in well.....! Seeing all the contestants perform right there in front of you is just mind blowing, you don't appreciate how hard they work and how well they sing when your sat at home on your settee, respect!
The rest of the day was pretty much filled with production room mania, seeing how #twitterguy controls everything, selecting TXFSigns and trying, not always successfully might I add, to retrieve them - this is a great time to point out to all those trying for TXFSigns, please please please understand how hard it is, I never realised how difficult it is for Twitterguy to actually get them, he works his butt off to try and keep everyone happy but unfortunately there's 600k followers, about 400 millions requests per minute (this may be exaggerated) and only 5 contestants now. Maths just doesn't stack up.

In between collecting TXFSigns I cheekily managed to get a few personal snaps from the finalists: Marcus, looking very handsome as always. Not forgetting the enviable beauty of Miss Amelia Lily.....

During my time running around helping Twitterguy (and I use the term 'helping' VERY loosely), I managed to come across some amazingly lovely people, firstly I met the man you may know as X Factor voice over guy - Peter Dickson, really top bloke, had a nice chat. Next up we bumped into Ian Royce, always up for a giggle. Saw the ever beautiful Caroline and Olly a few times and amongst all these wonderful faces I bumped into this chap, not sure if you know him......

DERMOTRON!!!
Now you would think meeting all those famous people would be enough for one weekend, well it was, but luckily for me it didn't end there! I can see the shock on your faces, and the whispers between you all.....who possibly could I have met! Well let me tell you now, the legendary #twitterguy some how - powers are unbeknown to all - managed to make this happen............are you ready, it's a good one........seriously I'm not playing around, it's HUGE, you can even see the stress/sheer amazement on my face.....ready.....BOOM!
TULISA!!
Meeting Tulisa was the highlight that I never expected, I still can't believe it happened if I'm honest - but it did and I've got proof WHOOP! Luckily I managed to stay calm and not say anything too ridiculous, although I do vaguely remember muttering the words I love you at one point.....oh dear! Fangirl Geek moment! She was lovely though! So was Gareth! (Tulisa's PA for those of you who aren't a Tulisa geek like me!)

Although meeting all these amazing stars of the show, the biggest shout outs and thank you's have to go to the people that made me feel welcome and let this happen - Steve, you are amazing! Not forgetting Olivia, Emma, Lucy and Dave who were all very professional but absolutely lovely with a total stranger dropping in for the day! Thanks for making this weekend beyond amazing!

Late but rightly so....

As promised here's my round up on this weeks performances, as I may have already mentioned, I was backstage this weekend, did I mention that? Hmmmm not sure, anyway just for safe measures I'll mention it again, I was backstage this weekend! YAY! Therefore I got to hear and see the true magic of each performance, but just for the interest of this blog, I also had the show recorded and watched it back today so I'm gonna review based on what you guys saw and heard just so we are all on the same level!
Same process as usual, lets get this shiz done....

Lets start with the NAY category this week, pretty easy one to start with as it's empty, yes you heard me right EMPTY! I genuinely didn't think anyone deserved to be in this category this weekend, good start eh.......hmmmm we'll see...moving on....

Next up the Hmmm category, now this is where the fun starts because this category is BOOMING this week. Now to be fair, all performances on Saturday had moments of fabulousness but some just lacked something, cue Craig Colton. Vocally he was flawless, really really amazing, but as this week was Movie Theme week, you would think Gary would've picked something a lot better than Licence to Kill. Not to say it isn't a good song, just out of ALL the songs available to showcase Craig's voice, I wouldn't have picked that. I had to agree with Louis and Tulisa. Also had to disagree with Gary, song choice is always important, get the song wrong and your in trouble......you saw the result right??? Ahem moving on....
Janet was another 'good but not amazing' performance, as for song choice I thought Kelly nailed it this week, totally suited her perfectly, but as with most Janet performances I switched off again, all other contestants build up to a big moment in a song but with Janet I always feel like she lacks in the 'Finale' department if you get what I mean. Vocally she was really strong this week but a bit boring.
Amelia next, yet again another great vocal, she done well with what she had, but what she had wasn't the best. Lovely girl though with a beautiful voice.
Lastly we have Misha, personally I was cringing at the beginning, thought it sounded really pitchy, but as she got into it she really started to smash it, but then near the end it started to go shouty again which I'm not a fan of. Brilliant song choice, performance looked beautiful but just sounded off to me in parts.

Now then lads and lasses, we have the fabulously gorgeous YAY Category, now I know there seems to be a reoccuring theme but I can honestly say that I base my comments 100% on my own opinions from what I see and hear, I can promise it's all genuine and not biased in any way shape or form. Just thought I'd best clear that up for any doubters :-)
Ok lets get back to business. Amazing performances from this weekend, you probably already know what's coming, and if not then WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU WATCHING! Marcus and his amazing choir, wow, what a performance to end the show, he was awesome, you could tell he enjoyed it too, like Kelly said - I felt like I was physically lifted off the ground from the buzz! Awesome Marcus.
Lastly the fabulous foursome Little Mix, this week they showed they aren't just 4 bubbly girls who come out and jump around to a happy pop song, dam those girls can sing. I loved how they stripped it back this weekend and I look forward to more vocally challenging songs next weekend. Joint best performance of there's, with E.T. woo yea!

So that's the round up, and as I'm behind this week it's pretty pointless giving my predictions.....or is it....hmmm lets see.
I think the bottom 2 will be Amelia and Craig, and Craig will go after deadlock. Wooooooo how cool am I getting it absolutely right! (shhhh don't tell anyone I cheated ok, it's between me and you)
To be honest, although it was a HUGE shock, it actually wasn't that much of a shock. Craig was amazing and didn't deserve to go, but hey, no one does really.

Up close and personal! WOW

Now this weekend, for those of you that follow this blog, I've not reviewed anyone yet, or given any predictions, or pretty much said anything about The X Factor all weekend, fear not little X Factor minions, it's not through lack of interest or boredom, the exact opposite in fact. This weekend I got the amazing opportunity of actually going backstage and working with Twitter Guy, yea that's right THE #twitterguy (hash tag and everything) I got to see how everything works, rehearsals, I got to meet the contestants and get a real feel for the atmosphere and the buzz around it all. As a huge fan of the show you can imagine I was extremely honoured to be there and pretty much walked round with mouth wide open and glazed eyes all the time! I will review the show properly tomorrow just wanted to give you guys a quick behind the scenes up date!

Firstly I can't tell you certain things like behind the make up Little Mix are actually Jedward, and Twitter guy is actually Pamela Anderson (both of which are completely fabricated and are clearly untrue in every way possible) but what I can tell you is that the backstage team are all really amazing people that seems to be a huge family of complete nutters in the nicest sense. The contestants are all amazing, really genuine and down to earth, I never saw any bad feeling between anyone, and I was around during the most tense times. And dam they can sing, all of them, even those I wasn't 100% on previously, like Janet, her vocals in rehearsals were bang on. I got goosebumps pretty much all day long, and I was lucky enough to catch a random sing along in the corridor with Mischa, Little Mix and Amelia not long before the results show, AH-MAY-ZING!
Being back stage really makes you appreciate how much hard word goes into a show as big as this, they really don't stop, it's pretty much constant all day. At home it's like 'yea they sing a few songs and send one home, big deal' but seriously from now I will be watching with a completely different attitude. I've had such an amazing time and can't wait to actually watch the show back, post my reviews and post some pics!

Just a quick word on Craig, his sing off song was 'hairs on back of the neck' material, he really nailed it. Total shock to see him in the bottom 2, and from my experience alone I think he will be hugely missed back stage. Genuinely lovely guy with such an amazing voice!

Panic Stations for a minute there!!!

Ok, gotta make this quick, I'm A Celeb has started and I'm missing it.... Kitty Left. Goodnight.

HAHA, yea as if I'd go without blabbering on about it first!
So the palm sweats started quite early tonight, given the history of the bottom 2, there's always been a shocker and for some reason I was panicking for my girls, yea MY GIRLS, Little Mix! I was actually sitting on the edge of my seat, no really I actually was, clasping my hands waiting for their name, I could've kissed Dermot I was so happy when he said they were through! PHEW!

I was expecting Kitty to be in the bottom 2 as I said last night, and although I wasn't surprised, I still wasn't really expecting Mischa to be there. She wasn't very good last night, and from what I've heard and read quite a few people didn't like the fact she stole Kitty's song. Not sure the reasons behind it but either way, she was in the sing off. I was hoping Kitty would be saved, just because I was growing to like her more, and I seem to be growing to dislike Mischa, however Mischa was the better singer, not by much though, again too much wailing for my liking. I think Kitty was expecting to go as she wasn't crying like in previous sing off's, and then took to singing Born this Way, scaring the hell out of Dermot, but proving that in fact, she should have sang it last night! Never mind, what's done is done, Good Luck Kitty!

Finishing words: Wow, the Gagatron nailed it tonight didn't she! BOOM!

Own up, who forgot to pay the electric?

So there I was, pen in hand ready and waiting dead on 8:15pm, and there I was pen in hand STILL ready and waiting 15mins later, but I didn't complain like the bazillion twitterers on my timeline, I just had a giggle at Goldie wrapping her legs around Gary's head, never gets old that does it! I can honestly say, hand on heart, that it never crossed my mind that the delay was on purpose or had any other reason than a power cut! People are so cynical, lighten up! Not everyone is out to get one over on you, these magical things called mistakes do happen sometimes!

Anyway, one power cut later and we were enjoying the Dermotron smashing the Lady Gaga paws pose! Whoop gotta love me some Dermot Dancing!

Queue montage from previous week, and let's be honest, WHAT a week it's been, finally we wont need to suffer Hairy beast boy no more! Various tabloids have claimed they know the truth but only Frankie and those involved will ever truly know, I just hope he sorts himself out, he couldn't sing but that doesn't make him a bad person. Don't become a bad person Frankie! Anyway, one out meant one back in and despite the rants and raving from most people, I thought the way X Factor done it was totally fair, Johnny and The Risk had their shot with the public and lost, the original 4 were dropped before they even got a chance. So we 'The Public' had to pick from JonJo, James, 2 Shoes and Amelia, clearly it was a 2 horse race between Amelia and 2 Shoes, with the almighty Amelia smashing the vote WHOOOOOP! If she wins I hope her first words to Kelly are 'In your Face'

Ok so that's the drama of the week dealt with, now let's discuss the contestants:

Starting the YAY category this week is the newest member of the ever decreasing contestant family, Amelia, and let me just say, WOW!! Kelly I hope you are ashamed, Amelia belongs on that stage, she is so talented and as Tulisa said, she came back in at week 6 with the same stage presence as those contestants that have had 5 weeks doing it. Well done Amelia.
Next up the ever improving Little Mix, as usual they were ace, these girls never fail to impress, HOWEVER, and it's a big however, I partially agree with Gary, not that they are predictable, but that I would like to hear them sing a ballad or something slower, just so we can truly appreciate their voices. Still got my vote though!
And lastly we've got Craig with the slowed down version of Paparazzi, for me that was his best performance of the series, he nailed it, I don't use this word very often but it was BEAUTIFUL really really beautiful! The old Craig I loved was back last night, and I hope he sticks around.

Next up the very short but sweet Hmmm category, only one act this week, and its a shocker. The normally YAY Marcus just failed to wow me last night, no denying his talent, his voice is amazing but as a performance it just didn't blow me over. I agree with the judges the jazzy route he took with the song was just too soon after last week and definitely too Bruno Mars.

Next up we have the NAY category, now I previously complained the acts were being too good, I guess they took notice and this week decided to go down a notch instead of going up, either that or I just wasn't in a very good mood last night - which I don't remember!
Lets start with the up and down Kitty, this week I genuinely felt sorry for her, as soon as I heard it was Gaga vs Queen week I expected Kitty to sing, and nail, Born this way, but when I heard she wasn't I was totally shocked, but then when I heard Mischa B was singing it, lets just say I wasn't so shocked! Hmmm moving on...
Kitty's performance was just a bit boring for me, despite the whole theatrics of it, I just wasn't on board.
Then we've got Mischa B, I guess this was another one of those performances that sound better in the studio than at home, the judges were raving about it but I just thought it sounded poor, a lot of shouty wailing and not much else. Out of all the songs to pick, she could've done something better, make of that what you will...
Last but not least little Miss Janet, I've always had mixed reviews of Janet, but this week I totally lost interest when she was singing, it was so dull and boring, that song is an anthem, and shouldn't be sang like that, I hope I'm wrong when I say this because I like her but that performance may put Janet in a dangerous position in the vote off.

That's this weeks round up pretty much done and dusted, my predictions for the vote off tonight, hmmm if we base it on talent then I think it will be between Janet and Kitty, but if we base it on popularity then I think it will be between Kitty and Janet......see what I did there!! But I'm just a nobody with an opinion, this competition is so wide open this year I have no idea which way it's going to go! Vote, then complain if it doesn't work out your way, if you don't vote, you can't complain!

Sunday 6 November 2011

Week 5 controversy at it's best!

Words are failing me tonight, I have no jokes, or nice things to say. I am literally in shock with tonight's results. Ok I'll try a few light hearted jokes now and again, but please know that it is forced! :-)

I may upset some people saying this but lets be honest, neither The Risk nor Johnny were gonna win the show, but having said that they definitely had a good few weeks left in them! In an ideal world, Frankie would've got the least votes and we would all be sitting at home happy with a nice cup of tea, instead of raging and punching walls with anger at the idiots out there voting for him, by the way, who are you, let yourself be known...actually has anyone checked Frankies phone bill recently?!?!?
Any way the hairy drunken karaoke expert got through, lets move on. Hmmmm, it's not that easy is it! I CANT, IM TOO ANGRY!!!! OK, seriously I'm not wasting any more of this post on it.

The Risk weren't the best in the competition, and clearly didn't get the votes so we lost another group, bless Tulisa you could see she wasn't expecting that at all. Then the sing off was between Johnny and Kitty, and out of the 2 performances, Johnny was better by far, I loved it, but agreed with the comments from the judges regarding the future, and who would sell more records, although saying that Louis knew the kind of artist Johnny was before he put him through so it was a bit of a lame excuse from him. I wouldn't buy music from either Johnny or Kitty, if I'm honest. But I'm still totally gutted to see Johnny go, he was a true gem!

A quick word to 'The Public' please start voting for real talent, and those of you who insist on voting for the non talent, please lose your phones! Good Night! PS I'm in a bad mood!

Club Classics, Avoided disaster....almost

I have to start this week with a rant about the media, I tend to do this now and again and after this week I feel the urge! I know any press is good press when it comes to stuff like The X Factor because it's going to get people interested, and talking about it, but my head is done in with the amount of different things I've had to ponder over in one week! Kelly is back and Tulisa is ill, Tulisa and Kelly make up but then fall out again. Tulisa has the flu and may not make the show. Louis given the nod from Simon to axe one of the other Judges in place of Cheryl. The judges getting categories swapped around. ARGH!!! Information overload! Now until I read it straight from Twitter Guy himself them I refuse to believe anything ever again, ever, EVER! Done, rant over!

Now then, as Gary said 14 million and a half times, Club Classics week is always the hardest for the contestants, especially for those that have a specific style already. It will either make them or break them. Pleased to say that quite a few surprised me tonight, in a 'just found a tenner in an old coat' kind of way! YES! One act tonight has actually made me change a category name, instead of 'YAY' 'NAY' and 'Hmmm' we've now got 'YAY' 'FRANKIE' and 'Hmmm' you'll have to wait until later to find out who inspired the change though....

First up I'll discuss the Hmmm's
Likkle Ikkle Janet Devlin, how I loved her knew look, the hair was fabulous, but she lost her way tonight. At first I was impressed at her efforts, and spirit, she took the challenge and embraced it, but she just lost it in the middle then for me she seemed to fall apart a bit. Bless her.
Then we've got the ever glittery Kitty, hey that rhymes, kinda, now she left me a bit disappointed, and I blame her VT, (for those of you who don't know what that is, it stands for video tape, ooops wrong programme!) in it they went on and on about all the big things she wanted to do for her performance, so here I was expecting her to ride in on a Giraffe walking along a tight rope above the judges! Now that would've been amazing! But she didn't really do much, and I felt robbed. She sang ok though and had a little boogie so it wasn't all bad news!
Then lastly we've got Mischa B, I think this week image wise it's the best she's looked, I don't like the big shoulder pads and Rhino horn hair look, she looked more natural tonight and I liked it. Her performance, as good as she is, just didn't really do it for me tonight, I actually found myself looking through the blinds to see if I could still see the bonfire from along the street, that's never a good sign!

Yet again this week the YAY category is at maximum capacity, people need to start being rubbish just so I can spread them out a bit :-)
As ever we've got the fabulous Johnny, I have no idea what was up with Gary tonight, as I thought Johnny was great, especially the second half. Just fab! I really don't care that it was slightly predictable either, Johnny is unique and for that I love him!
The Risk and Craig were both great tonight, vocally strong and performance wise they both done a great job, nothing bad to say about either, well maybe the start of The Risk performance was a bit dull but from the Rap onwards I loved it.
Hats off to Marcus, he really knows how to perform, and enjoy it. He never looks scared or nervous, he just does his thing and blows us away. And tonight was no exception, he nailed it, but I disagree with Gary saying it was performance of the season. Little Mix still own that title for ET!
Which perfectly leads us onto the fab 4, Little Mix, who again done a fabulous job. I really don't have a bad word to say about these girls. And I won't hear any either la la lalala la la *fingers in ears* I can't hear you! I love it when they do the dance routines, and they each have amazing voices! Plus 2 of them are Geordies.....biased much! WEY Not likely! :-D

Finally, we have the newly renamed category FRANKIE, and I know you are all dying to know who could have inspired me to change the name, and it may come as a shock to you, in fact I have to insist that you are sitting down and actually holding onto your seats when I reveal it, are you? are you holding on tight? Ok here goes...... the only act in the FRANKIE category, and the inspiration for the name is........Frankie! I know, shocker right?? Sorry Gary but how on earth could you justify the comment to Johnny about him making a mockery of the show, knowing full well what was coming from Frankie! It was like a random drunk had just been let on stage to have a mess around with a mic! I don't know him as a person and still disagree with the boos (even though I boo'd at home, shhhh though) but based on his ability to sing and perform on the show, I'm not a fan! Sorry to those that are!

With the odd exception, tonight has been the best night so far, everyone did appear to up their game. Even Kelly was throwing her crazy wavey arms around, and saying a bit too many of her wacky American phrases!
Double elimination tomorrow must be on everyone's mind and they were clearly trying to impress to avoid the chop, if it was my decision it would be Frankie and Kitty, and honestly, I think that's what the public may sway towards. We'll see.

Quote of the night "At least I'm here every week" HA me too Louis! Hard core we are!!

Sunday 30 October 2011

Didn't see that coming.....

Big surprises tonight!
Let's keep it short and sweet tonight, need to get back to hiding behind the blinds to scare the bejesus out of trick or treaters!!
After last night I predicted it would be between Sophie and Kitty, well I got Sophie right, didn't expect Mischa B though, not because I think she was amazing or anything, I just assumed she would have a big fan base! I refuse to jump on the 'Its Tulisa's fault' band wagon. If people wanted Mischa in the competition so bad then they should have voted! If anyone is to blame its the numbtees voting for Frankie!!! No one is safe so you can only shout if you voted!

Pfft rant over! Any way back to the sing off, and as much as I would've preferred to see Sophie next week, Mischa B was better vocally and the judges had no choice but to be honest and save her! Including Kelly! It was the right choice, as wrong as it seemed to some! Good Luck Sophie!

According to Kelly, she'll be back next week. Fingers crossed the frostiness is left in LA, if not bring back Alex! Loved her!

Looking forward to Club Classics next week, that will be interesting for a few contestants, not sure if they'll get away with turning a club song into a ballad!!!

Oooooh seem in a fettle tonight don't I??? Must be Halloween bringing out the evil within me!!!

The Live Shows Have LANDED!!!!

You have to be honest and admit that the first few weeks of the live shows this year haven't been as explosive as expected, I was so revved up after the auditions, bootcamp and the judges houses especially with the new judges and the amazing talent, but for some reason the contestants haven't wowed me as much as I would have liked. However tonight, finally everyone upped their game, best live show by far, a few acts turned a corner tonight! What a belter of a show, and sorry to say it but I didn't miss Kelly. Alexandra was fabulous, a welcome addition to the panel, one I hope to see again next week ;-) HINT!
My opinions have changed a lot from the first stages to now, even more so after tonight, let me explain....

Tonight I'm starting with the NAY Category, just to mix things up a bit...
No prizes for guessing the winner of this category is Frankie, I'm starting to dislike almost everything about him, his hair, trousers, voice and even more so his attitude. He basically talks/shouts through his songs, I can do that! It's a shame if he stays and other more talented people leave. Should I stay or Should I go...... GO!
Joining him we've got Sophie, she's one of my changed opinions, lovely girl and at Judges houses I was totally wowed by her, now I find her a bit boring. I think it may be to do with other contestants blowing me away on the stage.

Next up is the Hmmm contestants.
Firstly is Mischa B, now if I was basing this on her dancers then she would be in the YAY category, they were fabulous weren't they! However I'm not. Now we all know Mischa can sing, without a doubt, but for me tonight her performance lacked ooomph, I wasn't keen on the rap either, sometimes it's great but tonight it just didn't do anything for me!
The next 2 are Craig and Janet, now I absolutely loved both of them from day one, but now they've become predictable and I don't get excited listening to them anymore, I hope they both get through next week and really shock me with something totally out of the blue. Bring back the hairs on the back of my neck!

Then we've got the YAY category, which this week is busting at the seams!
In a normal week, The Risk would've ended up in the Hmmm category with tonight's performance, it was far from perfect and the song was a bit risky, but the fact they were a man down on Thursday then Ashford stepped in on Friday and they still came out and delivered a fairly polished performance deserves a spot in this category! Well done guys!
Oh Johnny, you star! You did it again! No gimmicks, no tinfoil outfit, just him and a piano. If I could've I would've got up on stage and hugged you as well! Finally proved you aren't just the fun factor, you have an amazing voice! Loved it.
Kitty next, regardless what people think of her, you CANNOT deny that performance was original and inventive, she sang pretty dam good as well and you can tell she put her all into it. I genuinely look forward to what she is going to do next and that what it's all about.
Lastly we've got Marcus, the only thing I didn't like about his performance tonight was that cane he was carrying everywhere, WHAT. No idea what that was in aid of. Regardless of that though he was ace, he has become one of my new favourites, and the beginning I kind of didn't notice him, but by heck now I do! Go Marcus!!

Now I can hear the confusion among you, 2 in NAY, 3 in Hmmm and 4 in YAY, that doesn't add up considering there's 10 contestants left! I have a sneaky new category I've been hiding from you, no one has been worthy of it until tonight, drum roll please.........are you ready.........wait for it...........a little longer.........ok I think your ready......

The WOW category!!!
And tonight the newly named Little Mix really WOWed me! Loved that performance, you girls owned it tonight! I've always supported Rhythmix/Little Mix because of the personalities and the talent, but tonight they turned a corner for me. They really came together, the performance was that of a guest group on a Sunday. You girls really set the bar high tonight and certainly have a lot to live up to for next week! PS Jesy ignore the haters, you are beautiful inside and out! Your fans love you as you are because you are real!

So as Alex would say, OK.com I think that sums everything up! Sunday will be interesting. Based on performances the bottom 2 should be Frankie and Sophie, but I have a feeling it may be Sophie and Kitty. We shall see......

Ooo oo oo one last thing I have to add!!! Dermot's entrance tonight!!! WOW he knows how to make me smile!!! Can't wait to see how he opens the show next week! YEY!

Sunday 23 October 2011

I can hear the haters now.....FIX!!

Which of course is rubbish!
For those of you that don't work your life around The X Factor like me, and actually have a social life, then let me bring you up to date on tonight's results show, in a nice, easy, quick fashion. Frankie stayed, boo, and Sami left. Give or take a few awkward moments and some fabulous guest appearances, that pretty much sums it up.

For you die hard fans, here is a more in depth review on tonight's proceedings.

I have to say Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Professor Green and Emeli Sande were all fabulous tonight, true stars on stage. I missed the group performance though, was really hoping for a proper rock song from them, like Sound of the Underground or Flying without wings, tee hee little joke for you there, did you like it??
Then came the results, uh oh, and all the way through I couldn't decide who would be joining Frankie in the sing off, so you can imagine my face when Dermot announced the next act through to be Frankie, let me tell you now it wasn't a pretty sight! Nor were the obscenities coming from my mouth, almost as bad as Frankie's, although I wasn't live on air at the time, naughty boy!
If I'm honest I'm not hugely surprised it came down to Kitty and Sami in the end, I had hoped it wouldn't be those 2 because they didn't deserve it, but they would probably have been in the last few I would've picked up the phone and voted for. The sing off was amazing tonight, Sami was flawless, Kitty was just ok, she did have some great moments, but overall Sami was the better of the 2. It was clear before they sang that Gary would save Kitty, and no surprises from Kelly and Tulisa, Louis however, now he surprised me, I thought he would've played it safe and go to deadlock, but he didn't he stood by Kitty and sent home Sami. As much as I disagree with the outcome, I have to give Louis respect for doing that. Goodbye Sami, don't give up as you have amazing talent!

I have to mention the clear tension (ooo I rhymed! yey) between the judges tonight, firstly the Judges entrance and the lack of hand holding between Kelly and Tulisa, ouch, then the clear frostiness between the girls at the desk. I have to be honest, I disagree with it - everyone is entitled to their opinion and people should respect that, yes I agree certain things should be held back, but I think it's now time to move on. Life is too short to hold grudges - people need to hold hands and dance naked in a corn field, wouldn't that be swell!

Ok, on a brighter note I have a lovely clean bed I need to climb into - now correct me if I'm wrong, but doing bed angels in a freshly changed bed is just the best thing in the world, no? I think so!!! See you next week!

The X Factor, Controversial, WHAT!! NEVER!!

I bet Simon isn't complaining now....
Wow, my mind is still racing with what I want to write and where to start, sheesh kebab! We've had everything tonight, rock songs turned into pop songs, pop songs turned into rock songs, high fives, low blows, arguments, superstars and karaoke stars. How do you begin reviewing something as explosive as tonight, here's how - FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!!!! You gotta love a bit of drama on a Saturday night, I told you it gets boring when everyone likes everyone, tonight is where the fun started! Even Gary was brutally honest to his own act, quote 'You deserved to be in the bottom 2 last week Frankie' - BINGO. Ok lets get back on track and discuss the talent, or lack of it in certain cases, same method as last week, I will categorise as 'YAY' 'NAY' or 'Hmmm' let the brutally honest'ness commence....

Let's start with the YAY's - now this category originally only had 2 acts in, but after more reviewing I managed to squeeze in another 2, it was borderline though. This is based solely on tonight's performance, nothing else. Ok.
The biggest YAY goes to the act that stole the show for me, the fabulous, amazing Johnny Robinson! He has stole my heart and I just love everything about him, the song tonight was made for him! He more than nailed it, he hammered it into a wall and hung a picture on it!! I could kiss him he makes me that happy! Ahem, need to get a grip now...
Next we've got the amazing Marcus, he opened the show with a bang, and not only did he sound awesome, he also looked awesome, so comfortable and happy on stage, another perfect song choice.
Ok so the next 2 in the YAY category only just made it and strangely both for the same reason. Craig and Mischa, now before you start shouting abuse at me, hear me out. Both seemed to have the same problem, started really shaky and out of tune in parts, well that's how it sounded to me, however midway through both of them seemed to pick up and then started to really smash the bigger parts of the songs. Luckily the finale of the song nudged them up from Hmmm to YAY, only just though.

Next up the Hmmm category. Now don't assume acts in this category weren't very good, because that's not the case, it's just that they didn't wow me like I'd hoped. And this week quite a few failed to WOW me....
First up, Janet, now vocally I think she is amazing, and she sang Sweet Child of Mine beautiful tonight, however I got bored, I was waiting for something and it didn't come, not sure what but I know I didn't get it.
Rhythmix, I owe you an apology, it's my fault you didn't wow me this week, I expected too much from you. After last week I was buzzing about this group and just wanted bigger and better however I think my expectations were a bit too high therefore I felt disappointed. Still vocally amazing, just not as good as last week for me. Same with The Risk, good effort but I preferred last week, still want to see more of them though.
Next up Kitty - can't stress how much I love to see people play and sing so the piano at the beginning won me over, however the vocals weren't all that. Overall I think she performed the song well, a proper rock song might I add, with flames and everything! She just hasn't quite crossed the barrier from quite good, to fabulous.

Lastly we have the NAY category, one of the acts I think should just live in this category! The other 2 don't deserve to be in it generally, but I just didn't like tonight's performance. Surprise surprise, we've got Frankie.... no shocked faces I see. To be fair to him, tonight he definitely looked the part, and had the right attitude/stage presence however vocally it was like listening to someone in my local pub, it just didn't sound very good at all, albeit that song isn't exactly a sit on a stool and sing your heart out kind of song but still. Not up to the standards of the other contestants at all.
Therefore if you hadn't guessed already, the last 2 contestants in this category are Sami and Sophie. Both of which generally have amazing voices, but tonight I just wasn't keen on their performances. For me Sami was very karaoke, which you could tell she knew herself, total wrong song for her - put your foot down next week, don't let Louis ruin you Sami! And Sophie, I think this was more the song than Sophie, I love Bonjovi singing Living on a Prayer acoustically therefore immediately compared him with Sophie which is wrong of me, however I couldn't help it. I also found it quite boring.

Not sure what was put in the Judges drinks tonight but they all seemed very much on edge, what with the song choices either not being rock enough, or the backstage Mischa drama. Maybe some of the comments tonight should have been curbed however if Simon asked for more drama on air, then he definitely can't complain after tonight, the claws were well and truly out, and I for one LOVED IT!!

My predictions for tomorrow, as Lemar once said, If there's any justice in this world, then Frankie will be sent home. I don't think it would be fair on any of the other acts if that isn't the outcome, but hey, who knows! We shall see......

The Vote Off!!

Erm, now I know the point of a blog is to write what you think, however my folks always taught me that if I have nothing nice to say then I shouldn't say anything! Soooo, that leaves me pretty much stumped when trying to review the 2 'sing to save' performances.

Now don't get me wrong, the Nu Vibe boys have got talent, individually, but collectively it just flops, I can't understand it, tonight they didn't deliver the kind of performance you would expect to see from a 'bottom 2' act, they should have nailed it! It was their chance to show the public they were wrong and they deserved to be through. I didn't feel it.
Exactly the same with Frankie, his performance sounded painful, and off at parts, like he was struggling with the timing. Everything about tonight was a disaster, apart from Katy Perry of course, she was Totes Amaze!!

Frankie really needs to up his game next week, he didn't prove to me that he earned his place tonight, to me he scraped through by the skin of his teeth. Next week I'd like to see him prove everyone wrong, because right now a lot of people are doubting the judges votes.

On a brighter note, how adorable did Marcus look when he thought he was going to be in the bottom 2, I was almost in tears watching him, he was like a lost little puppy! Bless him!

Chin up Tulisa, you've still got 2 amazingly talented groups who have the potential to go far!!

Looking forward to next Saturday to see what exciting things the judges have in store for us!!

The Year of the Groups!

What a bloooooming fabulous show tonight, I had my home made wedges and some nice chicken nuggets fresh out of the oven with a nice glass of cider to wash them down, I was ready for it!
I don't want to go into too much detail about each of the acts and how they shone or flopped as it will become a bit boring after a few weeks and my blog will end up being 197 million pages long, and nobody wants that! So instead I'm going to split it into 3 categories, the 'YAY's' the 'NAY's' and the 'Hmmm's'

I have to start with the YAY's and the act that officially blew my quite large size 7 socks off, best performance of the night - only just though - The Rhythmix! Those girls really brought it tonight, and I don't ever say that, I don't even know what 'it' is but it was definitely brought! There's real chemistry between these girls, they nailed 'I'm like a bird' and the harmonies were spot on, well done girls, you got my vote, plus as Tulisa said, I don't get the impression your about to steal my boyfriend which is always an added bonus!
Other acts in the YEY category are Janet, The Risk, Sami and Mischa B. Little Janet Devlin, she looked so lost on that stage, until she started to sing, beautiful from start to finish, what a trooper! The Risk, these are not young boys who are just here for the excitement and the screaming girls (ok maybe a little bit), they mean business, you can tell they worked hard on their performance. They look, act and sing like a group of men who have grew up together singing, yet they haven't, just brilliant.
Sami, now then, this was a close one, she almost made the 'Hmmm' Category, as at first I was on the fence, I couldn't decide whether she was nailing it, but then came the 'AND IIIIIIIIIIII' which immediately nudged her up into this category, not many people can tackle THAT Whitney song and pull off the hardest bit, she did, bravo. Then We've got Mischa B, she made that song her own, so much so I had no idea what it was but I was enjoying it, I finally figured it out and was amazed at how different she had made it. Nothing copycat about her at all, she's 100% original, owned the stage like a star.

Now then, unfortunately not everyone can deliver like superstars every week so I have to be honest and pick out the people I think didn't. The hardest thing about this is that the performance we hear at home is totally different to that in the studio, I've been to a few of the X Factor tours and people I thought were rubbish have totally wowed me. Nevertheless I can only go off what I thought from my TV, so here goes. Sorry in advance.
*Dermot Voice* The acts that made it to the NAY category this week are, in no particular order.......*long pause with dramatic music* Nu Vibe, *cue Boo's* Frankie, *cue uncontrollable sobs from screaming girls* and Sophie *cue shocked faces from the Judges* Okay that was fun, I enjoyed that, it made this category slightly easier to write :-) now for my reasons....
Nu Vibe, now last week I wasn't wowed but put it down to first show nerves as they are young, however this week again I just didn't feel it. Vocally each of them have talent, but together they seem to struggle, lack of chemistry and harmonies just don't sound right.
Frankie, clearly I'm just not a Frankie fan, I say this every week but I still just don't get him at all, song choice this week was poor, well actually the song is fantastic, I love it personally, but not that version.
Lastly we've got Sophie, I actually feel guilty putting her in this category, but it just had to be done. I think this week was one of those performances I mentioned earlier where you have to be there to appreciate it. From my living room, it didn't sound that great, she seemed to struggle - the judges comments clearly contradict what I'm saying which is why I think it must've sounded better live. Not denying she has talent though because she has.

Lastly we have the 'Hmmm's' now these are all the acts that were neither rubbish nor fantastic. Some of which I was disappointed in after last week, and some I'm disappointed in their mentor! Cue Johnny. Louis Louis Louis, what are you doing to this man, although saying that, Johnny did look like he absolutely loved every minute of tonight. No one else in this competition could've sang that song as good as him, nor looked as happy as him singing it! However I agree with what Gary said, I don't want to laugh at him, he's respectable and very talented.
Marcus and Craig, both of these had the same problem I thought, wrong song. I think Craig should have sang Marcus' song, it would've suited him better. Neither of them looked comfortable singing their song this week, which was a huge disappointment for me because they were in my faves last week.
Then we have Kitty - I have expressed that I'm not a Kitty fan on many occasions, mainly because she's just too much for me. So you probably would've  expected to see her in the 'NAY' category, what you forget is I base my decision on talent, and regardless how much people dislike her, she is talented and tonight she put on a dam good show, however she wasn't flawless hence the reason she made this category.

One thing I have to mention about this week, the judges seemed happier, obviously we had a few of the expected jibes and digs, mentors getting defensive about their act, but generally the mood seemed happier, which is obviously down to the fact that they don't have to send an act home tomorrow, but guess what? WE DO MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Get voting or you may see your favourite sent home, I've already backed my fave!

I think that concludes my summary of this week's performances, tune in tomorrow for my view on the results!
Ooo ooo ooo - no I forgot my predictions, ok, as Gary said earlier, if this was based on Talent then the result would be different, meaning Frankie would be gone, however as fan base is always a huge factor in the voting process then I think Kitty or Sophie may be in trouble. Which is a shame as I think they have more to give.

Quote of the night - Johnny "You can rub my lamp any time Gary" "VOGUE!"

Eventful, Totes Emosh & down right Amazing!

What a night! My emotions were everywhere, I had cold clammy shaking hands and couldn't even enjoy my pizza I was that nervous about the results, can't even imagine what the contestants were feeling, or the judges.
The results weren't really a shock if I'm honest - see my previous post. Not exactly what I was hoping for, especially Amelia, gutted about her leaving but the girls category is so hard this year. The others I wasn't that surprised about, doesn't mean they deserved to go though.
I really felt for Tulisa tonight, you could see the vote off was really tearing her up inside, she was clearly attached to all her acts, she had me close to tears several times. Obviously it was never going to be easy on any of the judges.

So to summarise, we lost 2 Shoes from the groups, totes emosh! I loved those girls but Tulisa obviously saw something in Nu Vibe to keep them in. We don't see behind the scenes, or the rehearsals, fingers crossed they deliver better next week.
Jonjo left the Over 25's which wasn't too much of a shock, the other's in the category seem to have more to give. I didn't agree with the boo's when Kitty got through, yea she's controversial but she's human and has feelings, people need to remember that.
James was sent home from The Boys, which was obvious to me, Gary made it clear he was a risk from the start and he didn't steal the show with his performance. Talented but just not as good as the others.
And finally we say goodbye to the amazing Alelia Lily, AMELIA LILY! Still can't believe she's gone, she was amazing, but she was in a tough category. Did I mention she's amazing?

Chin up to the 4 sent home, it's only the end if you let it be.

The best part about tonight, which only applies to me personally but I want to share with the world - or at least this blog! I got a twitter #TXFSigns from Tulisa!! OMG!! For those of you who don't know what that is, check it out on my picture. I'm absolutely over the moon, words can't describe it. I'm forever thankful to Twitter Guy for sharing my blog with team X Factor and the world! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

BOOM! Explosive Live Show!!!

I apologise in advance for the length of this post, I'm so excited about tonight's episode I've just got so much to write and I can't bring myself to cut it short - just read it in small doses :-) (not every week will be this long)

Well I HAVE to start by mentioning the big Twist, at first I was like oooooooooh that's going to be fabulous, but after seeing the acts perform tonight I'm not so happy about it, I've got a horrible feeling that a few of my favourites will be leaving, not a happy bunny!
Ok ok ok, where do I begin, let's discuss each judge and their acts together just so I don't get over excited and start going off on one in between each act.

I have to start with my favourite - I know I shouldn't have a favourite but it's just too hard. Tulisa has won over the nation. She promised to be feisty and bring an edge to the competition and she has delivered on that promise. Tonight she was critical when she needed to be, defensive at exactly the right times - quote "Are you Mental"- very professional too :-) - all this under the watchful eye of Mr Cowell and about 15million viewers for the very first time. Round of applause for Ms Contostavlos. To top it off, WOW what a job she's done with the groups, this girl knows her shiz.
1st up was the extremely talented and down to earth Rhythmix. Now I have to be honest, I wasn't a fan of theirs to begin with, no particular reason, but after tonight I have to agree with Gary, they are by far the best girl group The X Factor has ever seen. It's refreshing to have talented young girls come together and deliver like that, not trashy or over glamorous just completely modern and 'girl next door' like.
Next we saw 2 Shoes, these girls are actually very talented, which unfortunately was lost a bit tonight, personally I feel the song wasn't right for them, it was good and bubbly but didn't advertise their talent like other songs could've. Slightly disappointed because I was excited to see them smash it, fingers crossed for next week.
Nu Vibe - now these will obviously get the vote from the screaming girls, no doubt about that, they are attractive young boys with enough talent between them to take them so far, how far exactly, I'm not so sure. Tonight's performance was ok, not up there with the best though.
Last for Tulisa we saw the boy band she put together at judges houses, perfectly named The Risk. Bang on Tulisa, you saw something there and went with it, best decision ever. These boys, men in fact, nailed it tonight. No gimmicks, just talent. The harmonies were spot on, and they each brought their own piece to the table, nobody hid behind anyone else, LOVED IT.
The Twist: If it the decision was mine then based on tonight it would have to be Nu Vibe, but I have a feeling it may be 2 Shoes.

Let's go to Louis now, always makes me smile - in an evil angry way! Like I've said previously, Louis isn't actually that bad this year, he has started to try and wind Gary up - must be like a substitute Simon, but Gary doesn't bite, he just laughs which is even better! Swiftly moving on to his acts:
Johnny was up first, bless him. Louis what on earth were you thinking?? Vocally I was surprised, I didn't expect him to sing that song as good as he did, Bravo Johnny. Visually I was even more surprised! It was fun, and he definitely has the personality factor. As Tulisa said, he's my guilty pleasure.
Jonjo next, he failed to stand out, and in a competition as big as this, you have to stand out, bad song choice, albeit his own choice - which Louis was quick to announce! He does have talent but against the other contestants he was easily forgotten tonight. Harsh but true.
Whoa, Sami, you sure made Louis feel like an eejit tonight, what was he thinking not putting you through. For me she was up amongst the top performances of the night, absolutely blew me away. I hope Louis knows how lucky HE is to have her back, not the other way around. She really owned the stage, and that voice is just amazing.
And then we get knocked straight back into reality with Kitty. Okay, I like Marmite, so if Kitty is like Marmite then I should like her, right? Wrong! Because she isn't Marmite. Very peculiar this one, for the first time I actually felt for her tonight, you could tell she was terrified, it was obvious in her voice and her stage presence. Sorry but I'm still not a fan, I'd be more than happy to be won over though.
The Twist: I'm not a Kitty fan but I'd like to see her change my mind, so for me I think it would have to be Jonjo - which I've got a feeling Louis will go with too.

Next we've got the stunning Kelly - how on earth can some one be that gorgeous, it's just not even fair! As well as her beauty she also has an amazing sense of humour, but very serious when needed. It's clear she's got a soft spot for Gary, always coming to his defence when the other judges disagreed with him tonight, but yet she also has a clear bond with Tulisa (more so on Xtra Factor ;-P). Kelly sure has a tough category and this is where I get worried.
Amelia Lily opened the show with a bang - she is my favourite, very rock chick, but such an amazingly raw voice, very much Christina Aguilera like. Her song let her down slightly tonight, but she didn't play it safe like some others and I just hope Kelly see's past that and keep's her in, she could win it.
Next was Sophie, she definitely looks the part, and has a beautiful voice. Her performance tonight in my opinion was lacking something, I was waiting for a big finish but it never happened.
Misha B, well what do I say! What can I say that hasn't already been said?? She was rubbish - which would be a lie!! This girl has everything, excellent song choice, loved how she mixed it up to match her style. You would think she'd been doing this years. Vocally she was flawless. Well Done Misha.
Closing the show we had Janet, little old shy Janet. Not so shy now may I add! As bad as this sounds, all the way through the show I was praying she would be rubbish, just so she would be an easy choice for Kelly and then Amelia would be safe. Dam you Janet for being so good! Slightly nervous but even the nerves went well with the song. Brilliant song choice and a brilliant performance.
The Twist: Oooooo this is tough, as much as I like her voice, I would have to pick Sophie, simply because I prefer the others. Good luck Kelly, tough decision on your hands.

Finishing things we've got Gary, good old Mr Barlow. When did he become so ruggedly handsome! Did I miss it? Found it now so not to worry! Seems he's decided to slip into Simon's 'Mean' shoes. However saying that, most of what he said I agreed with before he'd even said it.
To start things off for the legendary Gary Barlow we had Frankie, ARGH he frustrates me so much, and alot of people (mainly young girls) will probably hate me now, but I just don't get him at all. I really want to do the 'Jackass' style razor attack on the back of his head just so he would have to cut his hair! I'm positive that under that hair, the tight pants and the awkwardness there is talent, I just haven't seen very much of it yet! Ouch, sorry!
James didn't do much better either, at least he didn't look as awkward this time due to the fact he had his guitar. He failed to wow me with his performance, and at times sounded - to be frank - terrible. Again Ouch, Sorry!
Now then, Marcus, I liked him. *Shock Horror* he is so down to earth and such a loveable character, then he sings and you just love him even more. Who cares what the papers write, why should sexuality change your opinion on someone. It shouldn't. The song didn't really suit him but in the same respect he gave it his all and done a fabulous job!
Then we've got the amazing Craig, what a diamond he is. I love watching him perform, he really means every word he sings, I get lost in the story he is telling, and his voice is just beautiful. The way he built it up to the end was perfect for me, and like Kelly, I wanted to throw a pen at him and shout 'Sing Boy'
The Twist: I have to say James, and I think Gary will too. He seems too in favour of the other boys.

This year X Factor seems to have exploded bigger than usual. It's amazing to be a part of, even if it is just through Twitter and this Blog. The build up through the week is great, I used to love my job but now it's just a chore I have to do in between watching the show haha. The online activity is immense as well, I never saw any non X Factor related tweets on Twitter tonight - same on Facebook. 2011 is the best!! Keep it up Team X Factor.

Tomorrow will be interesting to say the least - and I will be back with my views as usual! Can't wait!!!!

PS - Loved Dermot as usual, so glad he is back on our screens where he belongs!

OH EM GEE!! The Big Reveal...

Ok so this weekend I was away so missed the show, thank heavens for Sky+ is all I can say! All the way home in the car from Blackpool I was clock watching trying to figure out how much time I would have to catch up on both episodes with managing to unpack, shower etc. I'm so pleased I did, I'm so tired but had to write this before crashing, I'm WIRED! (had to check the spelling there, make sure it said wired, not weird)
Judges houses is always full of tears, controversy and most of all talent! This year it didn't fail in any of those categories, the one thing I found more this year than any other was disappointment, in both the acts and the final choices. Here's my view:

Gary and the Boys:
Firstly I have to say, Robbie was amazeballs, he done a great job with Gary. This category brought my biggest disappointment with Luke Lucas, such a shame, after that first big audition he just blew it, trying to sing a song that just wasn't right for his voice, it sounded bad and looked awkward.
The final 4 boys in my view were the wrong choice, Craig and Marcus are fabulous, Craig is the one to beat in this competition, he gives me goosebumps every time I hear him, I could buy him album tomorrow. Frankie....no....I just don't get him, I never got the hype at his audition or bootcamp, he's a mediocre singer with ridiculous hair. He reminds me of a male Katie Waissel, very unique kind of voice but not as good as a few sent home. James is another one I'm unsure of, he sometimes has a beautiful voice, but he never looks like he wants to be there, when he sang Skinny Love last night he looked very uncomfortable. He might open up when he sings with his guitar, fingers crossed.
Final thought on Boys - Craig has set the bar high this early in the process, but also expectations.

Tulisa and the Groups:
Wowzers, go Tulisa causing controversy in your first year, love it! I've said it before, she's a tough cookie this lass and isn't afraid to push the boundaries if she believes in something. I loved her and Jessie J, they would make interesting music together - just a thought! Back to the groups, No major surprises this time, think Tulisa picked the right groups for the correct reasons. 2 Shoes singing Tick Tock was amazing, they nailed it, well and truly earned their spot in the finals. Nu Vibe doing their little remix of Written in the Stars/Nobody's Perfect, very clever, original and fresh loved it. Rhythmix - this is the only group that I'm unsure of, maybe it was just the clip we seen but I thought it sounded too much, for me the girls sang together too much, it was a bit overpowering, good voices individually though. Finally we've got The Risk *dum dum duuuuuuuum* queue dramatic music! Completely agree with Tulisa on this one, I said when watching The Keys that for me it seemed like a solo audition from Charlie with a bunch of his mates helping him out. The Risk just didn't feel right, now they do and I'm excited to see what they produce!
Final thought on the Groups: I think this year brings the strongest Groups category ever, a very exciting prospect for the Live shows.

Kelly and the Girls:
Awww I love Kelly, she is so down to earth and funny, fave quote of the night on Saturday was after Amelia sang 'E.T' and Kelly said 'Katy Who?' haha I loved it, mainly because I had literally just said that Amelia sang it better than Katy Perry when we saw her live! Fabulous. My pre-show prediction for the girls was Amelia, Janet, Mischa and Jade, so I was very close, I really didn't see Jade getting the boot, that shocked me to the core - THE CORE!! Although saying that, I really loved Sophie, beautiful tone to her voice, she's always kind of hid behind the others for me, tonight she jumped out, I was very pleasantly surprised. Mischa bringing the rap with a hint of soul was great, really loved her performance, and Janet just done her usual thing, I hope it doesn't become predictable, that's my only concern with her, Kelly needs to be careful with Janet. Amelia is just, wow, no words I write will describe how good she is, her and Craig will keep this competition real.
Final thought for the Girls: Katy who? EXACTLY!

Louis and the Over 25's
It pains me to write about this category, actual pain is what I feel when thinking about it! Louis seriously you hurt my head! Firstly I have to hand it to Goldie for stepping down, for whatever reason she gave it was the right thing to do, it would've been a female Wagner. I can't find any feasible reason why Louis could pick Goldie over Sami, I admit Goldie would be entertaining, but the whole point is to find a star who will sell records, isn't it? Unless I'm seriously mistaken, Goldie can't sing? Whatever, moving on. JonJo sang an Adele song reasonably well, he deserved to get through, my honest opinion, he won't win it, there's too many other amazing artists to compete against. Johnny, he's lovely and has a unique voice, would I buy his album, no. Sorry. Kitty, ARGH, she irritates me, when she started to sing I closed my eyes and really enjoyed it, then it got a little shouty but still I thought 'Yea she's really good' then she finished and I opened my eyes and the urge of anger returned as soon as she kicked her shoes off and jumped in the pool! Attention seeker to the max! I think Louis only put her through because he knows it will divide the nation like Jedward did. Difference with Kitty is she can actually sing. Sami - she's amazing, it's Louis who's had the life line given to him this time, he's lucky to have been given a 2nd chance to correct his mistake. She is his chance.
Final thought for Over 25's: Louis your an eejit, but you know how to keep people watching!

The Live shows start next week, that will be exciting to say the least, and there's a Twist, oooooooo what could it be? I have no idea and I have no intention of finding out, why I hear you ask? Because I prefer the shock factor when I'm watching it, it's much more exciting. That's why I enjoyed judges house's so much because I hadn't read any of the leaked stories, it ruins the suspense.

Final thought for this week: very interesting line up for the live shows next week, normally you can smell the winner a mile off but this year I think it's a tough call, all categories have very strong contenders. Good luck to you all, we shall be judging you each step of the way!!

Sunday 25 September 2011

Boot Camp BABY!!

Well what an exciting weekend this has been. I actually have a sore throat from shouting too much at the T.V. - and my hands are red from all the clapping! Let's recap!
Ok, so on Saturday we saw the excited bootcamp hopefuls drastically but deservedly stripped down by 40 before even getting a chance to sing again, if I'm honest a few others should have gone with them but hey, I'm not on the panel! The remaining artists were separated into groups to perform to the judges which in most cases was an absolute disaster, a bit of advice for future reference, don't lie to the judges - cameras are following you everywhere, if you can't stand each other then just say that! I'm sure the judges would have admired the honesty.

Anyway lets get back on track, the groups performed "together" and the quiet/shy and dreadful artists were sent packing, the remainder were given 24hrs to prepare another song and were told to 'Make it their own' which could only bring disaster in the most fabulous way! And it did! For those of you who saw, all I need to say is 'Kitty' and 'Goldie' - wow what a display.
On a serious note, I was disappointed in a few of the people that I had been excited to see again, on the flip side I was WOW'd by a few I didn't relate to first time around. Jade Richards for one, I didn't get her in her 1st audition, maybe I compared her too much to Adele, but last night she shone for me, and tonight she blew me away with 'Nobody Knows' I'm excited to see what she can do at judges houses. Opposite goes for Kitty - I'm sorry but how irritating can one person be? I liked her originally but now I can't stand watching her, and because she annoys me so much I can't appreciate her voice, she needs to calm down and get a grip - although with Louis as her mentor, he'll probably encourage her!

That brings me to my next topic - Judges categories. It appears everyone got who they wanted, and I think it's going to work really well. Gary got the boys, and I think he has a tough job with them, some very talented artists there - but he is more than capable, picked the right man for the job Mr X Factor producer. Well done. Craig is my favourite, beautiful tone to his voice, I would buy his album. I would not buy Frankie's album though, in my opinion he is too cocky and not talented enough to compete with the others. Joe Cox was a shocker, he didn't stand out for me until tonight, very surprised - but in a very good way.

Kelly got the girls, which to me was a shock because I thought she would've got the groups, I'm pleased though because I thought Tulisa would be good with the groups. The girl's are another tough category, Amelia Lily is amazing, how such a young girl can have that much talent is beyond me, and Janet got a 'living room in my PJ's' standing ovation from me with her rendition of 'I don't wanna miss a thing' goosebumps and everything. And there's Jade Richards, amazing too! Hmmm good luck Kelly! I think you may have a winner in there.

Tulisa got the groups, and I think she's got her work cut out for her, but she's a tough cookie and can handle them! I hope they don't think for one second that because she's young she'll be a push over, she knows her stuff and has been in the business long enough, don't mess with her. The Key's were good in Saturdays performance, and I've got a soft spot for Girl v Boy, didn't see much of them this weekend but I love the Glee/High school musical theme! This will be an interesting category to watch, see what Tulisa can do with them.

Last but not least, we've got Louis with the over 25's - ouch. For a normal judge this would be an easy choice however Louis isn't a normal judge - remember Wagner?? I just hope he has the sense to keep Sami, she's amazing, and probably his only real chance in this competition, she makes me happy inside when she comes on the screen, so bubbly and such a beautiful voice. No doubt Goldie will get through, he loves anything like that, she's entertaining but she doesn't have the voice for the competition. I'm soooo pleased he didn't take them to Ireland!

Next week is going to be interesting to say the least!

My parting thoughts this week have to be......WOW how much do I want one of those Minority Report style computers, as Gary would say 'That was AH-MAY-ZING!'
